frostzilla and unicorns!

With the new updates, I went after the Frostzilla last night. Only took four tries, yay! I gave up on the diseased wildclaw and just bought it. Oh well.
OK, I also bought a unicorn mount, *girlie squee* Spent some crowns on gifts to the boy's account. Having a stack of crowns is fun, LOL!
I'm thrilled with the reduction on hatching costs. I haven't gone there yet.

Mostly, the boy has gone "home". Um, this is "home", but that is too. We spent time on the game and hopefully we can keep that up. At least until school starts. I'm missing him already.

Here's a couple o'links:

Tomorrow's another day. Today, actually. Hmmm. I guess I'd better do something about that. G'nite!

Dragon*con 2010

Just checking:

I was going through the guest list, but didn't see anything. Does anyone know if there will be a wizard101 meetup or panel? I'll be asking around on other forums. It would be great to get together with you guys!

laptop

I just gotta say,
I lovelovelove this laptop! I'm still getting used to it all. But a quick couple of tries for the diseased wildclaw have gone by swiftly. Some aspects need tweaking, like the backlit keyboard. It's rough on my old eyes!

new goodies!

The boy and I got the $10 Blockbuster card, so I have a new dragon!

Today was really busy. We upgraded all the e-toys around here. Tomorrow will prolly be spent getting stuff hooked up. Question: Have you ever gone out to buy something that was reasonably priced for something you just have fun with, and end up buying ... well. We went to buy the hubby his new laptop and me something for playing Wizards, but nothing fancy. Not fancy=not expensive or elaborate or super powerful. I don't need anything MORE. I had something reasonable picked out, and the hubby said I needed something faster. We looked at something else and I said if we were going to get the #2 we might as well get two of his choice. So... I have no idea what all it does or what the specs mean, but I guess it's a pretty darn good laptop*.
The bestest thing is I got a Bamboo Fun. It looks like it's gonna be a blast! I've been told for years I should get a Wacom tablet. EEEE! It has great reviews and it may be what I need to kick start my artist creative part that's gone walkabout in the past few years. I've already been thinking about my supplies and papers lately. I don't know, but if it can just be fun again, then that would be awesome!

Let's hope I still have time to play after all these goodies!
And I did purchase the crowns deal and we did go to see (Avatar) The Last Airbender

*To clear up some of my simple-brainedness, I have some medical issues and the meds I take mess up my memory. I can no longer access some of the skills I used to have. Processing is "off" so instead of going from a to b to c, somethings skip a or b and get c backwards. That sort of thing. Really frustrating since I know I used to know things.

Stone update

Nothing like a straight 12 hours sleep to make me less cranky! Really. I have to sleep alot. It's a wezl thing.

It looks like there is some fix to the Use the Stone part. I missed it but the boy got through it fine. He spent most of the day with Taryn and Logan S. having a great time roaming through the test realm. I spent the day playing grown-up. Meh. Someone has to do it, I guess. I hope tomorrow isn't so busy!

Vesna/Stone bug

So last night I decided getting on the test realm and checking out the Celestia stuff might be interesting. I got up to the Vesna instance and struggled through the multiple dialog issues, reporting as I went. After dying more times than I could count (karma maybe, since I'm rarely defeated anymore) and beating those $#*@!? Weavers about 5 times, it dawned on me that I should check the buzz on Central. I guess it took me so long to get it since so many ppl were posting about their experiences in the warehouse. There is a bug (-ish) deal. If you don't see the Stone after Vesna tells you she's fixed it, you need to hang out and some time later it'll show up. If you do like me and run around freaking out, leave, come back in, battle the Weavers some more, since that worked out so well earlier (anyone up for some positive reinforcement operant conditioning refreshers?) then go to WC to see if Prof Balestrom has it... well, you'll be out of luck. If you have a friend or two who didn't go through with you the first time (because they weren't really good friends to begin with?) or you find some random stranger who hasn't gone through the ordeal of the past several hours of mostly dying, warn them about the Stone and wait with them until it appears, maybe you'll get to Use The Stone. Someone posted it took several minutes. Some of us stood around for at least that long with nothing to show for it.

OK, I know it's Test and this is just the sort of thing to look for, but it just seemed like everyone was going on about getting past this and on to the warehouse without incident. If you're like me and maybe not the coolest kid to have an abundance of ppl running with you or other accounts full of GMs waiting in the wings, this is my warning to you. If you don't read it here (which you prolly won't) hopefully, you'll stumble across this thread on Central Use Stone of Mazzaroth before you attempt this instance.

I admit to being cranky about this. Going to bed sometime after 5 am tends to make me that way. Getting frustrated to the point of tears does as well. So, I think I'll go back to Live and do what I was doing already: aging pets to adulthood and farming for new pets and gold

I hope to take advantage of the

Hubby gave me permission to spend the $60, but I also want to see (Avatar) the Last Airbender this weekend, which will prolly cost about the same. As far as the movie goes, I haven't set my expectations too high, so maybe it will be somewhat entertaining. I expect it to be more like a train wreck-you want to look away, but just can't. I can say it'll most likely be very pretty at least. Obviously, I'm a huge Avatar fan. The kid and I have followed the series all these years. I still cry every time I hear the Little Soldier Boy song. Maybe I'll post a review.

Still here

And I know I need to get this place spiffed up a bit... But what online time I'm squeezing out of the boy's time is being spent on.... *drum roll*
house hunting! Something like Dragon's Fjord would rock! Sadly, I don't think the ice would last long around here. Popsicles are averaging about 4.5 seconds. But everything we're looking at has amazing potential to become anything we want, and we're weird enough to go there.

Some time was spent checking out the test realm. The boy tackled a few of the Celestia quests and I took over for hatching a black cat/supportive wildclaw kit. The test gives me a chance to play with that, just to ease my curiousity.

Sorry my input hasn't been as great as it was on the Advanced Pet test. Just the way it's been lately.

Not wizard-related:
We've had some RL pet issues. Momo, the greatest gerbil ever, passed away. His brother, Sokka, died late last year. Momo was over three years old. That's pretty old in gerbil years. We are now without rodents. No more hairless Rattus norvegicus, or Rattus rattus, or chipmunks. Um, for the first time in decades, I think.
One of our older cats is in kidney failure. We're keeping him as comfortable as possible. On that reveal, we also had Alice-wezl checked out. They had to knock her out for a blood sample. It looks like her issues were caused by over-zealous play with the Papillons. In typical wezl fashion, she's gone from wild, no fear baby ferret, to easy-going, sleepy mature ferret practically over night. At least, her health is good overall and she can still stick the landing on a three foot long jump! Love my wezl-girl.
Maggie (domestic skunk) will go for a dental soon, if her bloodwork checks out. She's 9 years old. The oldest living pet skunk I know. She doesn't do much but eat and sleep. She loves fresh papaya.
All the birds are good, so *knock on wood* it stays that way. We just have too many chickens living in the house. The chickies won't be ready to go out for another month. Coco crows every day from 8:30 to 10:30 am. The boy told my SIL he tried to set the Coco Alarm for noon, but it didn't work. Isn't he cute? LOL!

OK, prolly too much posting about the RL pets. I can't help it! I hope to do some creative writing about Taryn's menagerie. That's really what I was planning when I started this blog.
